Riley was raised in Brooklyn, New York. While going to school, Robert played football.

He showed up as Kenny/Ralph in The Trade Off in 2006. Afterward, in 2009, he was projected in his first TV show as Cleon Lewis in Law and Order: Criminal Intent.

In 2013, he loaned his vocals to the neighborhood populace in the hit computer game Grand Theft Auto V.
