Vicki Gunvalson has announced that she will depart from The Real Housewives of Orange County. The fan favorite has called it quits after one too many seasons of being just a friend.

Before the last season premiered, it was announced that Gunvalson would be demoted from the cast earlier this year to friend status. Fans thought that most of the drama came from Gunvalson, as she had ongoing feuds with a number of her co-stars. The OG of the OC decided to take on Braunwun Windham-Burke’s party behavior after she made out with co-star Tamra Judge, calling it over-the-top and uncalled for. Due to this, the original real housewife is finding herself in hot water.

On Friday, the OC announced via her Instagram that she would officially be leaving The Real Housewives of Orange County after 14 years of starring. Gunvalson allowed cameras into her home for 15 seasons, but, as ET noted, she recently called it quits. Her social media post read, “I will always be the OG of the OC, but it’s time to say goodbye to The Real Housewives of Orange County,” The “whoop it up” housewife thanked her fans for their constant support along the way, saying the journey had been incredible. The blonde grandmother announced that she was working on new and exciting projects that are meant to be empowering and motivating. The 57-year-old will be launching a podcast with Westwood One soon called “Whoop it up with Vicki.”

Die-hard fans of the popular show will know that Gunvalson was the last remaining original cast member of the franchise; she was a part of the first Real Housewives that started it all in 2006. The insurance CEO starred in the show as a main cast member for 13 seasons before she was bumped down to a friend. Gunvalson had made it very clear this past November while in New York City at BravoCon that she would not be returning to the show if she was in a reduced role again.

It was obvious to fans that Gunvalson was hurt when the network informed her of her reduced role as she had started numerous times that she started the show. The reality star expressed that she would either be all in or all out and it looks as if she has chosen all out with her public goodbye. Along with the Bravo fans, many housewives also bid Gunvalson a fond farewell, including Kyle Richards and Shannon Beador. Fans will just have to get used to the idea of the OG not being a part of the next season, but she will be missed.
