Where is the Abandoned Stone Statue Puzzle?
The Abandoned Stone Statue puzzle can be found in Castle Dimetriscu on the second floor. It’s in a room called Hall of Ablution. To get to this section of the castle, you’ll first have to escape the main hall and cut across the courtyard to a door in the top right corner of the courtyard.
Once up the stairs, follow the hallway until you reach the third door on your left, and you’ve found the Hall of Ablution. For reference, here’s a photo of the second-floor map to give you a better idea.
Abandoned Statue Puzzle Solution
The solution for the puzzle isn’t exactly clear when you first walk into the room. You’ll see four statues, each in a corner of the room, and a pool of blood in the middle.
One statue is of a man riding a horse, another is of a group of beggars, another is a woman holding a wine glass, and the last is a woman holding a bottle of wine. Each of the statues can be rotated left or right. The solution lies in finding the specific way each of them should be facing.
At the opposite end of the room from the entrance is an ornate plaque, which you can read. The message on the plaque is a clue to which way the statues should face.
“Women are blind to male advances, but the poor shall take their chances, to give their lords their bounty sown, so that soon the wine may flow.”
With this clue, it can be deciphered that the proper order for them to face is
The two statues of women on the left side of the room facing each other The man on the horse faces the woman in front of him The group of beggars looks towards the man on the horse
Once you’ve set each of them in their correct position, the pool of blood in the middle will drain, and a set of stairs will appear for you to continue.
