Originally, Capcom planned to release it as a pack-in game with Resident Evil Village, similar to Resident Evil 3 remake’s Resistance pack-in.

It’s a decision Capcom made quietly, first through email announcements to Resident Evil ambassadors and then in a no-fanfare change made to the Re:Verse official site.

The developer didn’t give a reason yet, but considering multiplayer matchmaking caused the beta to crash earlier in April, it’s probably safe to guess that’s at the root of the problem.

When it does release, Resident Evil Re:Verse will be the series’ first battle royale game, pitting heroes against each other and reviving them as Nemesis, Jack Baker, and other iconic villains should they fall.
