Korea’s ET News claims that Samsung will become Apple’s primary supplier of OLED display panels, stating that an agreement has “practically been decided.” Samsung is reportedly gearing-up for the contract with an initial investment of between $2.49B and $3.32B in plant and equipment, rising to $7.47B depending on order levels. Apple currently uses OLED displays in the Watch. Rumors that it will switch to OLED for the iPhone have been doing the rounds for many years, but have been getting much more specific of late....

Spotify is considering a move that would mean some of its biggest new releases will be restricted to paid users, according to a new report from Financial Times. The decision would come as part of a negotiation with record labels that would reduce the amount of royalties Spotify pays for songs and also allow the company to prepare for an initial public offering, the report claims: While nothing has officially been decided, the report continues by noting that sources say the negotiations have been ongoing for months and that deals could be signed in the coming weeks....

High on substance, low on style We had touched upon the appearance of the OnePlus 3 and how it differs from its predecessors in our first impressions of the device. Suffice to say, it differs significantly from its predecessors and ditches its trademark sandstone finish back for a smooth metallic one, that makes it look more like a HTC device than a OnePlus one (pun unintentional this time). It might not be as distinct as the OnePlus One or the OnePlus 2, but the OnePlus 3 is a handsome phone nevertheless and one that no one will shy from flaunting – we just wish that camera on the back did not jut out so, but then no one is perfect....

We’ve been messing around with a damn fine looking set of portable hard drives for the past few days from Western Digital called My Passport Studio and My Passport Mac. They are encased in an all-aluminum shell, the My Passport Studio comes with two FireWire 800 ports as well as a Mini USB port around back; the latter only has a Mini USB port. Sonos launched its all-new soundbar last month and ahead of the first customers who will get the next-gen Sonos speaker starting next week, reviews are starting to come in. So far, it looks like the Sonos Arc is living up to its appointment as the company’s top of the line speaker and may be one of the best wireless soundbars available on the market… with one notable caveat. In its review, The Verge scored it an 8/10 with the positives including “Excellent, powerful, immersive sound” and eARC support giving it some future-proofing....
