A few hours before the opening keynote at this year’s Worldwide Developers Conference, we reported that Apple was set to unveil an all-new iPad. We did not get a product demo at the keynote. Fast-forward a few hours after the event, and the Polyurethane Case appeared on the Apple Store. As an alternative to the Smart Cover that unveiled with the iPad 2, which provides only screen protection, the Smart Case offers full back and front protection for $10 more than the $39 Smart Cover....

I wasn’t a fan of Harman Kardon’s Soho headphones when they debuted a year ago, but the reason was unusual: they were seriously uncomfortable. Soho was a much smaller, wired version of Harman’s gigantic Bluetooth wireless headphone BT, notably using relatively tiny 30mm speakers instead of the 40mm drivers found in BT and many rivals, including Beats’ Solo 2 and Solo 2 Wireless. Something was off during Solo’s design or manufacturing process, because its steel headband felt like a vise on my head, an issue I hadn’t previously encountered while testing hundreds of other headphones....

Without a doubt, my favorite feature on any iPhone has always been the camera. Millions of Americans woke up to no RIM Blackberry service today. In its third day straight of outages, a core switch failure in Southeast England has led to a global messaging and email backlog on RIM servers running Blackberry causing user messaging, email and all data services to ground to a halt. The outage began in Asia three days ago and has been spreading since. According to RIM’s chronology of the outages, they began on Monday, affecting browsing and messaging services in parts of Europe, the Middle East and Africa....

In 1987, hot off the success of the film St. Elmo’s Fire, director Joel Schumacher, who had only directed comedies until that point, released a horror film called The Lost Boys. Rocket Racoon joins the cast of Robert Downey Jr.’s Dolittle in a new fan-made poster. With his days of playing Iron Man now behind him (a rumored cameo in 2020’s Black Widow aside), Downey is gearing up for his first post-Avengers: Endgame movie.
