My inside dog became a part-time outside dog earlier this year when we completed our backyard fence. Apollo was over-the-moon happy to expand his playground, but as a dog owner I had mixed feelings. Rumors and reports have indicated that Samsung has dubbed the Galaxy S6 as the ‘Project Zero’ and has gone back to the drawing board for the design and software of its upcoming flagship. Now, Business Korea is reporting that Samsung is working on optimizing TouchWiz for the Galaxy S6 so that it is as smooth and fast as the Nexus 6. According to an industry source, Samsung is removing all the unnecessary features and bloatware to achieve this....

There are two common ways to access System settings. The quickest way is if your device has a menu button, just press it while on the home screen, and then tap System Settings. The other way to load settings it to open the Settings app from the app drawer. In the settings menu tap the Apps button. Now the device should be displaying the apps list. From here tap the menu button again and then select “Reset app preferences....

Beats Solo Pro is the the biggest upgrade to the Solo line of on-ear headphones since Apple bought Beats five years ago. While the evolved $299 ‘Pro’ version carries a $100 premium over Solo3 Wireless, Solo Pro includes active noise cancellation found in Beats Studio3 Wireless for $50 less. Other new features include Transparency for hearing ambient noise through the headphones, controlling power by folding each side, and Apple’s new H1 wireless chip that first debuted with second-gen AirPods....

Announced during Apple’s October event, Pixelmator for iPad ($4.99) is an important stepping stone in the iPad’s history. The Mac app is regularly featured by Apple as an exemplar app in the Mac App Store and it is clear Apple wants to use Pixelmator as a ‘trophy’ app in the same way. No doubt this app (aside from games) is one of a handful that will directly benefit from the A8X performance gains....

Back at CES we gave you a preview of the first Made-for-iPhone Bluetooth LE hearing aid when GN’s Resound Linx started rolling out to select markets ahead of an official launch. Today the company announced that it’s now rolling out in global markets alongside the new ReSound Smart companion app. The hearing aid is the first under Apple’s MFi program using new Apple-developed Bluetooth LE hearing aid technology that introduces new possibilities for the product category....

As the timer continues to count down to President Trump’s ban of TikTok in the US, the social media service’s owner, ByteDance has reportedly increased the urgency of talks with the Trump administration about avoiding the ban without having to sell all of its US operations. At the end of August, we saw Walmart join Microsoft in its bid for TikTok’s operations in the US, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand. Microsoft has been at the forefront of a potential deal all along, however, Oracle is also said to be a serious contender… that is if ByteDance ends up selling after all....

This report’s generating lots of coverage, we note – so we’d best chime in too….seems that Apple’s still unannounced, unconfirmed and currently undetailed purported tablet/slate thing needs to sell for $600 or less to appeal to the wide church of PC users, apparently. Retrevo tells us, “Apple’s going to have to be very aggressive on pricing if they want to win over PC owners.” Uh huh? Assuming Apple does intend taking on the netbook market with its tablet, the research warns: “The study also found Apple had better hurry up if they want to capture any of the netbook market because many consumers, both Mac and PC owners, have already bought a netbook and many more plan on buying one soon....
