Revolut said its new service would allow customers in Singapore to buy, hold, and sell cryptocurrencies via its mobile app. Its platform offers more than 80 tokens for trade, with a 2.5% transaction fee for “standard” customers and 1.5% fee for “premium” and “metal” customers. An additional 0.5% exchange fee will apply when standard and premium customers exceed SG$5,000 and S$15,000, respectively, worth of transactions a month. Metal customers are able to make unlimited exchanges without forking out the additional fee....

A second analyst has warned that supplies of the Retina iPad mini are likely to be “ridiculously tight”, after KGI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo previously predicted they would be “highly constrained.” The comment comes from Rhoda Alexander, director of tablet research at IHS electronis and media, quoted in the Telegraph. While analyst predictions are not always noted for their accuracy, Kuo has tended to be a reliable source, including on the new iPads, correctly predicting that neither new iPad would have Touch ID nor would be available in gold....

CalDigit is no stranger when it comes to producing peripherals for the Mac. In particular, the California-based company has concentrated on Apple’s laptops with USB-C and Thunderbolt. The CalDigit AV Pro 2 is its latest such product: an external storage solution wrapped in a high-grade aluminum enclosure. CalDigit has merged external storage with a USB 3.0 hub to create a product capable of providing three things of interest to MacBook owners — access to more storage, additional USB ports, and charging up to 30W....

Review season 3 may have been the show’s last and shortest season, but it was still at peak dark comedy – here’s a recap. Despite the reputation video game-based movies have for being flops, the long-running Resident Evil franchise is at least the exception that proves the rule. A group of researchers has uncovered what looks to be the first browser-based side-channel attack that’s built entirely from CSS and HTML. The JavaScript-free attack has been found to work across most modern CPUs including Intel, AMD, Samsung, and Apple Silicon. Interestingly, the findings say Apple’s M1 and Samsung’s Exynos chips can sometimes be more susceptible to these novel attacks. Cornell University published the new security paper by a group of researchers from University of Michigan, Ben-Gurion University of the Negev, and University of Adelaide (via The 8-bit)....
